Word from the Chairman
Welcome to the Staffordshire CF website, I hope it proves to be a useful resource for CF members right across the county.
Having been recently elected to serve as your Chairman for one year, I have been busy making sure that the next 12 months will be successful in terms of increasing and consolidating our membership and effectively campaigning to further the Conservative cause in Staffordshire. The first step was the creation of an Area Management Executive, on to which I have invited the CF Chairman/representative from each constituency in the county. Together we will organise a series of events to bring CF members throughout Staffordshire together, and bring to life the 'Staffs CF' identity that has been lacking up until now.
Key amongst these will be a number of 'action days', on which CF members from across the county will be invited to attend a day's campaigning in a key area, hopefully followed by a pub lunch! The first is happening soon in our county town of Stafford, where we will be joining Conservative Parliamentary Candidate Jeremy Lefroy in his fight against the government's raft of Post Office closures throughout the area. Please check the events page for more information on this, and future action days.
We have good grounds for optimism in Staffordshire. We already control three constituencies, and most of the others are winnable with some hard work on our own parts, and a continuation of the national mood turning against Labour. We have some excellent PPCs in place, people like Andrew Griffiths in Burton, Jeremy Lefroy in Stafford, Karen Brady in Staffs Moorlands and Chris Pincher in Tamworth. Hopefully, with our help, over the coming year they can really consolidate their vote share locally and get into a position to turn Staffordshire blue come election night.
It's not all hard work though, I plan to have a number of social events during my term, with the ever popular annual Staffordshire CF Summer Ball approaching fast. Again, see the events page for more details on what promises to again be a fantastic night.
In the very near future, I should have been able to compile a complete membership list of Staffs CF members, and intend to then keep you all updated with regular newsletter bulletins, as well as of course keeping this website up-to-date and relevant to you. If you want to get involved with CF in any way, do contact me, or your local CF branch Chairman, we'd love to have you involved in what is the nation's largest youth political organisation!
Best wishes,
Matt Lewis
